The Beginning
One of the most popular attractions of Naalumanikkattu is its vibrant food stalls run by Kudumbashree members. Operating daily from 4 PM to 7 PM, these stalls offer a variety of authentic local delicacies, including Kozhukutta, Thiruvathirapuzhukku, Vada, Baji, Kappyum Mulaku, Kachil Puzhukku, Ila Ada, and Ottada, among others. Fried items are freshly prepared at the stalls, while steam-cooked dishes are brought from home in hot serve vessels. Each stall is set up as a permanent structure, with women entrepreneurs managing operations with the support of their families. To ensure strict hygiene and food safety standards, all vendors wear a designated uniform consisting of a white shirt, green apron, cap, and gloves. The stalls undergo regular quality inspections, and health cards are mandatory for all food handlers.

The association has also obtained FSSA registration for added compliance. Naalumanikkattu follows a sustainable and eco-friendly approach to waste management. Plastic and disposables like paper cups, straws, and plates are completely banned. Instead, food is served using steel utensils or plant leaves. Liquid waste is directed to nearby plants, biodegradable waste is used for animal feed or biogas, and non-degradable waste is collected separately and handed over to scrap vendors. With the growing demand for their delicious and high-quality food, these stalls now cater to bulk orders for small functions, clubs, and households. Currently, there are 10 stalls operated by 14 women, with plans to expand to 16 stalls in the near future.
